One-Time vs. Recurring Truckload Donations
What are one-time and recurring donations?
Good360 provides nonprofits with two types of truckload donations: one-time truckloads and recurring truckloads. Both options are available through the Direct Truckload Program, which allows nonprofits to receive large donations shipped via 53-foot trailers. Understanding the differences between these two donation types can help your organization determine which option best suits your needs.
One-Time Truckload Donations
One-time truckloads are irregular and unpredictable donations from Good360’s corporate partners. These donations come in limited quantities and are offered on a first-come, first-served basis through the Good360 catalog.
Key Features:
- Unpredictable: Donations are not scheduled or recurring, making them a great option for nonprofits that can adapt to varying supply.
- Variable quality: Although Good360 works to ensure the quality of all donations, the nature of one-time donations means there can be fluctuations in the types and conditions of the goods provided.
- Limited availability: Due to the non-recurring nature, nonprofits need to act quickly to secure these donations when they become available
Recurring Truckload Donations
Recurring truckloads refer to donations that arrive on a more regular schedule from specific corporate donors. These donations are more predictable in both quantity and type, providing a steady stream of goods.
Key Features:
- Consistency: Nonprofits can expect more regular donations, making recurring truckloads ideal for organizations with consistent needs for certain types of goods.
- Predictable supply: The types and quantities of goods are more stable compared to one-time truckloads, allowing nonprofits to better plan their distribution efforts.
- No guarantee: Even though these donations are recurring, they are still available on a first-come, first-served basis, and no nonprofit is guaranteed a specific donation.
How Does the Recurring Truckload Program Differ from Good360's Managed Programs?
Good360’s Managed Programs pairs nonprofits with local retailers for ongoing donations. In this case, a nonprofit works directly with one store to receive regular donations, and a subscription fee is required for up to 12 months. By contrast, recurring truckloads are available to any approved nonprofit in the Direct Truckload Program without an exclusive relationship with a retailer. The key difference is that recurring truckloads are offered to all eligible members on a first-come, first-served basis, while Managed Programs guarantees a steady partnership.

- Delivery time: Both one-time and recurring truckloads typically take up to 14 days for delivery, though delays can occur depending on availability and location.
