Less Than Truckload (LTL) Shipping and at Good360

What is LTL shipping?

Less than truckload (LTL) freight shipping is the method used by Good360 to transport bulk donations less than a full truckload. It combines multiple smaller shipments into one truck, making the process more cost-effective and efficient. This service is available to all registered Good360 nonprofit members who meet the necessary requirements.

What is LTL Freight Shipping?

LTL shipping involves combining shipments from different organizations in the same region to fill a truck. This method is ideal for nonprofits ordering Bulk pallets through Good360's online catalog. Each LTL shipment is scheduled based on the truck's loading plan and regional deliveries, optimizing both time and cost.

Requirements for Receiving LTL Shipments

To receive an LTL shipment from Good360, your nonprofit must:

  • Have a business address (home addresses are not eligible).
  • Have access to a loading dock, forklift, or pallet jack at the delivery site.
  • If no heavy machinery is available, you can add liftgate service to your order, which will allow pallets to be safely lowered from the truck to ground level.

What is liftgate service?

A liftgate is a mechanical device attached to the back of the truck, designed to lower heavy pallets to the ground when loading docks or forklifts are unavailable. This makes it easier for smaller nonprofits to receive large shipments.

Shipping Times and Delivery

LTL orders generally take up to 7 business days to process and ship. During busy seasons, such as holidays, deliveries may be delayed by an additional 2-3 business days. In some cases, a secondary carrier may handle the final mile of delivery, depending on the location.

Minimum Orders and Discounts

  • Amazon bulk goods: Requires a minimum order of two pallets/gaylords.
  • Other bulk goods: There is no minimum order for products listed in the bulk category on Good360’s catalog.
  • Discounts may be available for larger orders that exceed the minimum quantity of pallets/gaylords.

Full Truckload Orders

Good360 also allows nonprofits to source a full truckload of donations as they become available. This option requires additional vetting to ensure the organization can properly receive and store the goods.
